Clinical Research Facility: our team

Our team includes research nurses, administrative support and laboratory staff.

Research nurses play a key role as patient advocates. They provide high quality research and clinical care, ensure patients’ safety and protection, and also make sure patients are well supported throughout the research study.

Professional development nurses ensure CRF staff have access to the highest quality training and development opportunities.

There are many non-clinical roles within the CRF. Study coordinators and data managers support the setup, day-to-day management and data capture for research studies.

CRF receptionists are responsible for scheduling appointments and greeting all visitors to the department. Business managers conduct many operational elements to keep the facility running.

The Laboratory team is managed by Dr Helen Smith and consists of junior and senior technicians.

Laboratory administrators coordinate multiple daily bookings and ensure a flow between in and outgoing specimens.
