Meet the Team

The teams at the Birmingham CRF keep growing and include research nurses, administration and laboratory staff.

Research nurses play a key role as patient advocates, providing high quality research and clinical care, ensuring patients’ safety and protection, and also making sure that patients are well supported throughout the research study. Professional Development Nurses have responsibility for ensuring CRF staff have access to the highest quality training and development opportunities.

There are many non-clinical roles within the CRF. The study coordinators and data managers support the set-up, day to day management and data capture for research studies.  Our receptionists are responsible for scheduling appointments and greeting all visitors to the department, and business managers manage the many operational elements to keep the facility running.

The CRF laboratories located at the UHB site facilitate research sample processing, storage and analysis. The laboratory is staffed by a fully qualified team and is complaint with both Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) guidelines.
