After completing her Biomedical Science undergraduate degree at Keele University, Vicki subsequently completed a PhD in Stem Cell Biology at the University of Leicester. Upon moving to Birmingham in 2008, Vicki worked within the Centre for Liver Research at the University of Birmingham as a postdoctoral scientist where she worked on human mesenchymal stem cells, particularly their role in trafficking to the liver during injury. Moving to UHB R&D in 2012, Vicki has worked as a Clinical Research Officer, Clinical Research Grant Co-ordinator and is currently a Research Manager.

As Research Manager, Vicki leads the Research Support Team (RST); a large team that helps develop high quality research grant applications involving UHB patients, staff, facilities, samples and data. The team are also key to managing and participating in both cancer and non-cancer research facilitation groups that review operational delivery at UHB post award.
