West Midlands Health Informatics Network Conference 2014

05 November 2014

The West Midlands Health Informatics Network (WIN) – supported by WMAHSN – is hosting a free conference at the University of Warwick on Thursday 11 December 2014.

The aims of the conference are to showcase the use, innovation and research of health informatics in the region. The event will also enable the sharing of good practice and experience from those working in this area throughout various healthcare settings regionally and also nationally. WIN is planning an exciting programme, with keynotes, thematic tracks and poster sessions. They are inviting contributions from WIN members and conference attendees to provide all attendees with a stage for active participation.

There will be four parallel tracks that will cover various health informatics topics. These tracks, while specific to the chosen theme, will all have cross-cutting topics, such as:

  1. digital technology
  2. patient empowerment
  3. co-production in healthcare
  4. development processes and implementation into healthcare settings
  5. governance, security, privacy and confidentiality aspects of health data

WIN is also inviting proposals for a presentation or poster, focused on the health informatics topic, especially the four conference track themes. All presentations and posters should be informative rather than promoting a particular product or service. They should enable all participants to expand their knowledge of health informatics, as well as awareness of the range of technologies and approaches, while being better able to compare their benefits and challenges.
