MidTECH is the NHS Innovation Hub for the West Midlands. We help NHS organisations in the region discover, develop, protect, and commercialise their new innovations and intellectual property. We act as the technology transfer office for all the fresh thinking that comes out of the NHS.

Our understanding of the evolving NHS makes us a trusted partner in the healthcare industry. Our role is to offer our expertise tailored to your needs, helping to turn ideas into tangible products and services that can transform healthcare and benefit patients.

We can provide general advice on intellectual property (IP), including guidance on IP and dissemination for funding applications. We also offer feedback and support with managing IP once projects are up and running. This includes support with collaborations and the necessary agreements, working closely with the Trust governance team and the wider RD&I infrastructure.

In addition, we offer advice on IP protection and strategy for projects, assistance on getting trade marks, copyright materials, and patents where relevant.
