Bio

As the Head of the NIHR Birmingham Biomedical Research Centre (BRC), Victoria leads the core team and has overall responsibility for strategic development and operational management of the BRC. Victoria has an additional role within University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust (UHB) as a Freedom to Speak Up Champion and is involved in several inclusion-related projects, such as the implementation of the NIHR Race Equality Framework (REF) within Birmingham. She is also part of the chairing committee of the national BRC Managers Group.

Victoria has worked in research management since 2008, across both UHB and the University of Birmingham, focusing on funding development and policy for patient-centred research. This has provided her with wide-ranging experience at both strategic and senior levels.

Victoria has a PhD in Stem Cell Biology, and her postdoctoral work examined Mesenchymal Stromal Cell (MSC) trafficking, predominantly in liver disease states.
