Delivered by Prof Andrew Filer, Rheumatologist at University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust, this webinar will delve into the latest breakthroughs in arthritis research, focusing on how cutting-edge ultrasound guided technology is transforming our ability to see inside joints and identify which treatment works best.

Rheumatoid arthritis is a disease where the immune system turns against the body’s joints, causing long term inflammation (swelling) and damage. It affects over half a million people in the UK. While there are treatments available for this condition, current options are not good enough: they have side effects and only work for a limited time. Plus, we don’t know in advance which patient will respond to which therapy.

Prof Andrew Filer will guide you through understanding joint health, starting with the basics of arthritis and moving on to innovative developments in ultrasound imaging. Discover how ultrasound-guided biopsies are revealing more about joint health, helping us understand what is happening inside our bodies – and importantly, how each treatment affects the inflamed joint, and what new treatments will help.

This webinar is perfect for anyone with arthritis, people interested in this condition and related research, or anyone wanting to learn more about it – no science background needed.

It will take place on Thursday 19 June, from 18:00 – 19:00.

Don’t miss this unique opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of how research advances are paving the way for more personalised and effective treatments for arthritis.
